2. Kroomsa

Based out of New Delhi, Kroomsa is a platform for independent bands/artists. These artists can upload their music online which is available for download and streaming online. Founded by Paras Chopra, Kroomsa doesn’t just let you showcase your talent but get almost free advertising. It works in a way by which your advertisement is embedded in the song and once the song is downloaded and played on different channels or music systems, it will carry the advertisement, providing you with free marketing. Kroomsa gives 20% of its ad revenue to NGO’s and 40% to artist/band and keeps the rest 40% for itself.

Founded by Sunil Koshy, a techie and trained singer, From Mug to Mike, aims at making music lovers graduate from Mug to the Mike. Sunil Koshy is a trained singer and techie, who has recorded with leading musicians like Keith Peters, Alwyn Fernandes, Ustad Faiyaz Khan and top lyricists like Jayant Kaikini. He took sabbaticals from his work as a techie, and along with his wife has been carrying out these workshops, paving a new road for potential singers.
