Much like Microsoft, the Cupertino giant is also pretty active and continuously seeds beta updates for all of its latest software iterations, including iOS 10, macOS, watchOS and tvOS to developers and public testers. Thus, building upon the ongoing development process of its upcoming macOS Sierra 10.12.1 update, Apple had today released the fourth beta to developers and public testers for instant feedback.

Within a couple weeks of the official launch of the brand new desktop OS, that has been now been christened macOS, Apple started greeting its developers with the latest beta updates for the software. The latest beta update, which is fourth, follows pursuit to the previous update, which was released about a week ago. Apple has also dropped the latest beta updates for all of its other softwares as well.

Though details of the features included or deducted from the fourth beta are a bit scant, but it appears to focus solely on major bug fixes and under-the-hood performance improvements. The update introduces support for ‘portrait mode’ images captured using the iPhone 7 Plus, running the latest iOS 10 beta. It also addresses some of the key issues that have been there since the official launch of the operating system.

It is, however, also highly likely to bring alongwith new and improved features that would work seamlessly with the next-generation MacBook Pro laptops that are expected to debut before the end of this year. Since the MacBook will come pre-loaded with macOS Sierra 10.12.1, there have also been sightings of underlying code that relates to the OLED bar that is likely to replace the function keys, and introduce touchID to the Macs.

For those interested in trying out the latest beta update, it can either be directly downloaded from the Apple Developer Center or from the software update mechanism in the App Store if you’re already running the previous macOS beta update.

And for those who haven’t update to macOS Sierra, you are missing out on some of the greatest feature additions to the OS. This iterations of the desktop operating system brings along with it support for Siri, Universal clipboard, storage optimization options, auto unlock using Apple Watch, among others.
