Asianet Hikes Its Unlimited Plans In Kerala. RJio To Raise Rs. 750 Cr via Non-convertible Debentures


After re-launching its true unlimited broadband plans again in Kerala priced at Rs. 510 and Rs. 899, Asianet has introduced a hike in the monthly tariff of these plans.

Now the revised tariff for these plans stand at Rs. 599 and Rs. 899 and will come in effect from June 1, 2016 in the state of Kerala.

These plans have been branded as TU 599, and TU 999 as they offer truly unlimited high-speed data @ 1 Mbps and 2 Mbps without any data or FUP limit.

This translates to a hike of Rs. 89 on the Rs. 510 plan and a Rs. 100 hike on Rs. 899 plan.

Asianet Launches T20 Series Unlimited Plans

Asianet has also launched new broadband plans targeting the T20 cricket fans. These T20 plans offer high-speed data up to 20 Mbps and come with an FUP limit which kicks in after the subscriber exhausts 10- 100 GB data. And just like the plans from other old-school broadband plans these plans with an FUP speed of just 512 Kbps.

If you are willing to go for any Asianet plan then you have to pay Rs. 999 as plan activation charges.

Reliance Jio Plans To Raise Upto Rs. 750 Cr Via Non-convertible Debenture Issue

RJio, which is expected to launch its next-generation 4G services by the year-end it planning to raise an additional Rs. 750 crore via an issue of redeemable non-convertible debentures on a private placement basis. The company also raised Rs. 2,250 crore via its last month’s debenture issue and Rs. 4,500 crore via a consortium of investors backed by Korea Trade Insurance Corporation for buying the telecom equipment from Samsung Electronics and Ace Technologies.

“Pursuant to the approval of the Board of Directors and shareholders, the company proposes to issue secured redeemable non-convertible debentures aggregating up to Rs 750 crore, on private placement basis,” said the company in a filing to BSE.

The company which had a soft launch of its 4G services for its employees and vendors is now offering them to new customers as well via employee-driven referral system. In case you are planning to try Reliance Jio, then please know that RJio 4G is currently available on RJio’s own LYF branded handsets only.

PS: Reliance Communications is also launching its 4G services for its CDMA customers from 1 June 2016. The same would be extended to new customers upon the commercial launch of the RCom 4G which would most likely be in collaboration with Reliance Jio.
