The initial project of Ramdev was his Patanjali Yogpeeth and since its inauguration in 2006, it has been labeled as one of the largest centers for research on yoga and ayurveda in the world. Baba Ramdev has been conducting yoga classes and providing ayurvedic consultancy in the premises of his Yogpeeth. It consists of a 300+ bed multi-specialty hospital, a research center for yoga, a well renowned university, an ayurvedic pharmacy and a food park.

Patanjali Ayurveda Kendra Pvt. Ltd. was registered with company registrar’s office, Government of Nepal in 2006. It’s a sole distributor for Divya Yog Mandir (Trust) and entails the following vision and mission.

The entry of PAL into the FMCG slowdown has not deterred its sales and revenue growth. Its effective penetration into the herbal segment can be attributed to high quality and low price products; which has taken its competition by surprise.

Patanjali’s ‘Dant Kanti’ (toothpaste) has received wide appreciation from consumers due to its low price and high quality of dental protection. The rising demand for herbal and organic products will see an augmenting demand for Patanjali’s toothpaste in the future, especially from the rural market and this is expected to boost revenues. Their products are available in almost 30 countries across the globe. They have a strong distributor base with head office located in Mumbai. Their products can be found very easily in retail outlets and kirana stores because of their efficient transport facility.

Cow Ghee, Shampoo, Biscuits, Noodles, Honey, Dental Cream and Aloe Vera cream are projected to be the best selling products and contribute the most to the overall revenues of the company.

In the Grocery segment, PAL’s biscuits have done extremely well in the market as they are made of pure wheat ‘atta’ and no trace of Maida. In addition to this, the biscuits are priced as low as INR 10.

With eight different varieties of hair oil, PAL’s hair oil segment has seen a boost. Majority of revenue generated by the hair care segment comes from the northern region of the country.
